Gilber Paquette is appointed Executive Director of Hebdos Québec and announces two other Association appointments.
The Chairman of the Board of Hebdos Québec, Charles Couture, is pleased to announce the appointment of Gilber Paquette to the position of Executive Director of Hebdos Québec. Mr. Paquette will also continue as Marketing Manager of the Association, which represents 150 French-language weekly newspapers in Quebec. “Gilber Paquette joined our team in 2006. His many achievements as Marketing Manager of Hebdos Québec, his leadership qualities and his business sense quickly convinced us that he was the ideal candidate for the position of Executive Director,” Mr. Couture noted. “This appointment is part of our goal of refocusing the mission of the Association, which will now be concentrating its resources even more on marketing and promoting the weekly press industry. The members of the Board and the entire Hebdos Québec team join me in wishing Gilber every success as he takes up his new duties.”
A carrer in the communications industry
Gilber Paquette has worked in the field of media and communications since 1993. He spent the first 10 years of his career with Carat Stratégem and, prior to joining Hebdos Québec, he headed a variety of research projects at Léger Marketing, as well as holding the position of Director, Marketing and Research, with Astral Media Outdoor. A member of the APCM, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, the Quebec MBA Association and the HEC Montréal Alumni Association, Mr. Paquette is also a regular expert contributor to current-affairs programs, and lectures on communications and marketing. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from UQAM, and obtained an MBA from HEC Montréal in 1993Two other appointments at Hebdos Québec
In turn, Gilber Paquette is delighted to announce the appointments of Pascale Bergeron as Manager, Communications and Marketing, and of Gaétan Girard as Project Manager. “These two promotions are excellent news for Hebdos Québec, and I am convinced that Ms. Bergeron and Mr. Girard will meet the new challenges ahead of them with dynamism,” Mr. Paquette said. An employee of Hebdos Québec for the past six years, Ms. Bergeron will remain in charge of communications and will from now on be helming certain components of the Association’s marketing mix, developing a variety of programs for members and supervising certain government dossiers. The Association’s technical and logistical support manager for the past three years, Mr. Girard will be assigned several projects including management of the readership survey and the Les Grands Prix des Hebdos journalism competition.
